While originally inspired by Ammonite Falls near Nanaimo, this painting later took an unexpected turn towards the mysterious world of the Fae when a whole gaggle of beings and faces started appearing and flowing out in the brushstrokes.
I wasn't sure what to do with it for the longest time, I enjoyed reawakening to the magic that wanted to be explored here. This piece has been an interesting journey. Some paintings really do just have a mind of their own. You may be appreciating the name choice if you have ever read the famous novel ‘The Mists of Avalon’
